Cost of CT scan in Jammu division to be regulated; Div Com constitutes committee

Jammu, May 15: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer constituted a committee to regulate the charges of HRCT used in the management of Covid-19 patients.

The order reads, “In view of various complaints being received from the general public  regarding exorbitant rates being charged from the patients undergoing HRCT/other scans required in the management of Covid-19 patients/suspected cases; by some private Radiological clinic/Imaging centers; a committee is hereby constituted to suggest the benchmark for various types of scans.”

The committee, as per the order includes Additional Commissioner (I) Divisional Commissioner Office, Jammu, Director Health Services Jammu as well as Dr Kulbhushan Gupta, HOD Radiodiagnosis & Imaging Deptt GMC Jammu.

The order authorizes this committee to co-opt any other member as deemed fit, to arrive at genuine/benchmark market rates of C.T scans in private setting, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation. The committee, as per the order, shall also suggest the SOPs to be followed by such Private Radiological/Imaging centers, to check for any transmission of Covid-19 infection.

“The Committee shall submit its report latest by 16th May 2021,” the order further states.
