COVID-19: Death toll reaches 100 in J&K, two more patients die in Kashmir

Jammu, June 30: The death toll due to Novel Coronavirus has reached 100 in Jammu and Kashmir as two more patients died due to the virus on Tuesday, officials said.

Overall, four patients have died due to COVID-19 today. Officials told a news agency that two more patients including one each from Srinagar and Shopian died at CD hospital.

The two patients who died at CD hospital include 55-year-old lady from Bhagat Barazulla and 23-year-old youth from Shopian.

Dr Saleem Tak, Medical Superintendent CD hospital told a news agency that a 23-year-old from Shopian who was shifted from SMHS on 29th June after he was tested positive for COVID-19, died at hospital on Tuesday afternoon. He said the patient was admitted with severe head injury and died today.

He said the other patient from Srinagar was undergoing treatment from sometime at hospital after she was tested positive. However, he said she was recently detected negative and reports of her fresh samples are awaited.

Earlier, two patients including 52-year-old man from Baramulla and 85-year-old woman from Kathua died in the morning. Kathua district of Jammu had recorded first death due to COVID today after woman who was undergoing treatment since long, died in the morning.

With four more deaths in a day, the death toll due to COVID-19 has reached to 100 in J&K including 88 from Kashmir and 12 from Jammu division. (AGENCIES)
