Srinagar, 22 June: With the 14 key mainstream political leaders from Jammu and Kashmir getting invitation for a meeting with the Prime Minister in the national capital this week, the constituents of People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration — (PAGD) has arrived at the residence of National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah, where a meeting is underway to discuss the invitation on June 24.
Former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, Spokesperson for PAGD Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami, Javaid Mustafa Mir and Muzaffar Ahmad Shah are present in the meeting, and the meeting is being presided by Dr. Farooq Abdullah.
It’s worth noting that the meeting with the Prime Minister has spurred speculations about when the Assembly elections would be held. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Independence Day last year that elections will be held in J&K when the Union Territory’s delimitation process is completed.
Following the meeting Dr. Farooq Abdullah is likely to address the Media.
